Symphonic Band (3rd period) 

The second performing concert ensemble at SHS. In this ensemble, students perform music that is geared toward preparing them to handle the literature demands of the Wind Ensemble. This band is a mix of upperclassmen and advanced underclassmen. This ensemble performs at the Non-Varsity level in the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation. Members of this ensemble are required to participate in sectionals and/or rehearsals (outside the school day), concerts, contests and in solo and ensemble contest. Members are strongly encouraged to participate in the All-State Audition process. Symphonic Band students are required to perform at graduation.
